He’s Guns N Roses passed away on May 2, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.
By Strictly Speaking and out of Inside The Lines, He’s Guns N Roses was bred by Tim Robinson of Raleigh, Mississippi, and foaled on October 4, 2009. He began his show ring career under the direction of Herbert Derickson and, over the years, was also trained by Brent Coburn, Tim Smith, Travis Craft and Bryan Barnhill.
Throughout his career, He’s Guns N Roses found success under the ownership of Eric McDonald, the Terry Dotson family and the Gary Kiser family. In recent years, he found his forever home in East Tennessee at Rouse Farms with Wayne Conley and Sherry Rouse, where he became a standout Amateur Owned and Trained competitor.
A consistent crowd favorite, He’s Guns N Roses and Wayne Conley proved to be a formidable team, earning 31 of his 46 career blue ribbons together. Their success brought numerous high point honors with the ETWHA, NCWHA, SCWHA and the Walking Horse Report. He was also the reigning Amateur Owned and Trained champion for four consecutive years at the ETWHA Fall Classic in White Pine, Tennessee; his hometown show.
Known for both his presence and personality, He’s Guns N Roses combined power in the ring with a distinct character in the barn. He preferred things just so, often requiring his feed to be topped with sweet potatoes and showing little interest in anything but high-quality alfalfa hay. While he loved his job in the show ring, he equally enjoyed his role as the barn’s beloved companion.
He’s Guns N Roses was laid to rest at Rouse Farms, overlooking the mountains that served as the backdrop to many of his at-home preparations and memorable moments.
Wayne and Sherry extend their heartfelt appreciation to all who have offered support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
He’s Guns N Roses — and always “with the band.”
